Le Puy en Velay

From Champdieu we traveled on to Le Puy en Velay. This is the place Henrik strayed his 900k walk of the famous El CampSantiago dr Compastella pilgrim walk a couple of years back. And it was during this walk he and his friend Johan got to know Chantal and Christoph.

From the beginning this walk was made by Christian pilgrims but is today a very popular walk Going through France and ending in Santiago de Compastella in Spain.

Henrik and Johan walked 900k spread over a months time. Henrik really wanted to go back to this city and I did it mind at all!

Le Put en Velay is situated in a valley surrounded by mountains and with the village in the middle. On top of the hill stands the massive statues of Mother Mary.

A gorgeous village with thousands of cobblestones, alleys and small little shops and restaurants spread out all over. Again we are her in low season and most shops and restaurants were closed but for us with the massive stroller and all, it was kinda perfect for us to stroll around and enjoy the old buildings.

We parked up close to the railway station, five minutes walk from the city and had four really nice days just walking around, climbing up the hill to enjoy amazing views and playing in the city park.
